If you are suffering with lower back, buttock or leg and foot pain, then you may be experiencing a common condition known as sciatica.

The symptoms of sciatica are many and varied and may present as:

  • Vertebral subluxation – misaligned or poorly moving vertebrae.
  • Disc herniation
  • Disc protrusion
  • Disc degeneration
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Poor posture over long periods of time, ie. Sleeping positions, poor mattress, prolonged sitting and wearing of high heels.

Let us show you how we can help!

Sciatica

Firstly we need to determine the cause of your pain and why it is present. We do this using a number of examinations and diagnostic imaging tools such as X-ray, CT scan or MRI.

Once we have determined the cause of the pain, we set out to reduce the pressure on the nerve and surrounding structures to provide you with relief as quickly as possible. This may include the use of ice, specific chiropractic adjustments, flexion/distraction, massage and trigger point therapy, home ergonomic advice and specific stretching to facilitate a speedier recovery.

We are very experienced in dealing with even the most severe cases of sciatica. Sciatica generally begins as a result of a poorly functioning spine over a number of years.
